While I attended the National Conference on Cast Iron Art and Practices, I discovered the apprentice test. In the foundry industry, being able to cast a teacup, saucer and spoon as one solid piece is a symbol of achievement and excellence. With my drive to achieve such excellence, I became determined to fulfill and succeed at this test, which in turn lead to my iron teacup series. I use these teacups as a way to experiment with patinas, where they have become a symbol of my femininity as a sculptor.
